FAQ
1. What kind of portrait will we create together?
-
Formal / corporate portrait — LinkedIn, press, institutional use
-
Personal branding portrait — founders, entrepreneurs, creatives building a public presence
-
Editorial / creative portrait — concept-driven, with active direction
-
Urban or lifestyle portrait — natural, dynamic, narrative-led

2. How do I book?
-
Choose your date and time based on available slots.
-
Pay a deposit to hold your space.
-
We confirm location and image goals before the session.
-
I call you or send you a short questionnaire a preparation guide covering wardrobe and logistics.

3. Is there a pre-session questionnaire? What's it for?
-
Yes. It helps me understand your context, goals, and how you plan to use the images.
-
The more specific you are — industry, tone, visual references, intended use — the stronger the result.

4. Where do sessions take place?
-
My studio is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Off the Graham Av. L train stop.
-
Outdoor sessions (urban or natural settings) and on-location interior shoots are available depending on the scope of the project and available light. For outdoor sessions, I propose locations based on light, backgrounds, and logistics. For interior shoots, I share a brief guide on how to prepare the space.

5. How long is a session?
-
As a general rule: 45–90 minutes for a solid, varied portrait session. If you're planning a look change, two locations, or an editorial narrative, allow 90–120 minutes. Session length depends on your package.

6. What should I bring / how do I prepare?
-
2–3 wardrobe options, pressed and on hangers. Clean shoes that match the look. Minimal accessories — a watch or ring — if they add to the character.
-
Water.
-
A basic mattifying product if needed, especially for outdoor sessions. For women: under-eye concealer, eyeliner, and at minimum a moisturizing lip color. I prefer light, natural-looking makeup..

7. What works best for men's portraits?
-
Solid colors and neutral tones — black, grey, navy, off-white — photograph exceptionally well. Avoid large logos, fine stripes (which cause moiré), and busy patterns. Prioritize fit: the garment should sit well at the shoulders and waist. If you're deciding between two options, bring both. We'll decide based on light and background.

8. Will you direct me, or do I need to know how to pose?
-
I direct. You don't need to know how to pose. I guide you with small adjustments — posture, gaze, hands, breath — so you look natural and grounded.

9. When and how do I receive my photos?
-
You'll receive a private digital gallery to make your selection (if your package includes a selection round). If your package includes all images, you'll receive the full gallery after the session with instructions for choosing which ones will be professionally edited.
-
Typical delivery: 1 week, depending on volume and current workload. If you have a hard deadline — a press feature, a launch — let me know before booking so we can discuss timing.

10. Does it include retouching? What kind of editing?
-
Professional editing: color, contrast, consistency, and removal of distracting details.
-
Careful retouching with a natural-skin approach — I reduce temporary imperfections without erasing texture.
-
I don't make structural changes to anatomy. If you need something specific, that's quoted separately.

11. Can I bring someone with me?
-
Yes, if it helps you feel at ease. Ideally one person. If the session involves more complex lighting or set work, I may ask them to wait outside the set to keep focus.

12. What if it rains or the weather doesn't cooperate?
-
If we're shooting outdoors and conditions don't work, we reschedule or move to a covered location. Decisions are made with practical judgment — I prioritize light quality and your comfort.

13. What are your deposit, cancellation, and rescheduling policies?
-
The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel with at least 24 hours' notice, you may reschedule once within the active booking window. To reschedule, your deposit applies as credit toward the total, but a new deposit is required to hold the new date. A second cancellation or reschedule forfeits the deposit, and a new deposit is required to rebook.
